10. Hur lång hållbarhet har era parfymer?
How long a perfume lasts on the skin varies depending on the fragrance notes, skin type and external factors such as temperature and humidity. In general, our perfumes last all day, usually between 6-12 hours. Heavier, more oil-based scents with, for example, oud, vanilla or amber tend to last longer, while fresher citrus and aromatic notes can evaporate faster.
If you experience that the scent disappears quickly, it may be due to noseblindness, which means that your brain gets used to the scent and stops registering it. Feel free to ask someone close to you to smell if they still experience the scent. If you have just received your perfume, you can also let it sit for up to two weeks - this allows the fragrance oils to mix better with the alcohol and stabilize, which can improve both the scent and durability.
11. How do I best store my perfume?
Store your perfume in a cool, dark, dry place, such as a drawer or cabinet, to protect it from light, heat, and moisture. Avoid keeping it in the bathroom, as temperature changes and moisture can affect the quality of the scent. Also, make sure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use, so that the scent is preserved for as long as possible.
12. What does it mean that a perfume needs to massage?
Massaging is the process of allowing a perfume to mature after production. Immediately after a perfume is blended, the scent may be unbalanced or weaker than expected. Leaving the perfume in a dark, cool place for at least two weeks gives the notes time to develop and blend properly, which can result in a deeper, longer-lasting scent.
13. What is noseblindness and can it affect how I experience smell?
Noseblindness, or olfactory fatigue, is when your nose gets used to a scent after a certain amount of time, causing you to stop smelling it while others can still smell it.
This can happen with perfumes you use frequently, especially if you apply them to yourself. To test whether your perfume actually lasts, you can ask someone close to you to smell you after a few hours.
Noseblindness is completely natural and does not affect the actual longevity of the perfume or your health.
14. What is the difference between a dupe and an original perfume?
A dupe is a perfume that is inspired by an exclusive and expensive original fragrance but at a much lower price. It is about getting the same fragrance experience as the expensive perfume, but without paying for the brand name or packaging. A dupe is usually created with the same fragrance notes as the original and can be just as long-lasting and intense.
The difference between a dupe and an original perfume is that a dupe is not a brand name, but rather a version of the fragrance. This means you don't have to pay for the famous brand and packaging, but still get to experience the same scent on your skin. Many dupes are designed to give the same feel and quality as the original perfume, making them an affordable alternative for those who want a similar fragrance experience without paying the high price.
15. How do I apply perfume for best durability?
For best longevity, apply perfume to well-moisturized skin, preferably after a shower. Focus on pulse points such as the wrists, neck, behind the ears and inside the elbows, where the warmth helps the scent to develop.
Do not rub the perfume in, as this can break down the fragrance molecules and affect the longevity. A light spray on clothing can also help the scent to linger longer, but avoid delicate fabrics.
