Yes, within 14 days after your package was delivered, you have the right to return and exchange your perfumes at no extra cost.
This is good if you are unsure about a fragrance you want to buy/have bought or want to try one without having to pay for it.
Our return process:
1. Ensure that the perfume is not noticeably used. Up to 10 sprays to test the scent is acceptable.
2. Contact us by email (hello@oneboldchemist.com) if you want to make a return to get your return code. Let us know if you want a refund or if you want to exchange for another fragrance – then specify which fragrance you want to exchange for. If you need help deciding which fragrance would suit you best, customer service is happy to assist!
3. Pack the perfume carefully and securely to ensure it withstands transport.
4. Use the QR code we sent you in a separate email. Scan the code at a PostNord agent, and you will receive a prepaid return label printed.
5. When we have received and approved your return, we will automatically send out your new fragrance, or the money will be refunded directly to your account within a few business days after we have processed the return.
9. What do I do if a perfume bottle is broken or leaking?
If your bottle is broken or leaking, contact hello@oneboldchemist.com with a picture or video demonstrating the defect as well as your order number. This is so that we can assist you as quickly and easily as possible.
10. How long is the shelf life of your perfumes?
How long a perfume lasts on the skin varies depending on scent notes, skin type, and external factors such as temperature and humidity. Generally, our perfumes last all day, usually between 6–12 hours. Heavier, more oil-based scents with, for example, oud, vanilla, or amber tend to last longer, while fresher citrus and aromatic notes may evaporate faster.
If you find that the scent disappears quickly, it may be due to noseblindness, which means your brain gets used to the scent and stops registering it. Feel free to ask someone close to you to check if they still perceive the scent. If you have just received your perfume, you can also let it mature for up to two weeks – this allows the fragrance oils to blend better with the alcohol and stabilize, which can improve both scent and longevity.
11. How do I store my perfume in the best way?
Store your perfume in a cool, dark, and dry place, such as a drawer or a cabinet, to protect it from light, heat, and moisture. Avoid keeping it in the bathroom, as temperature fluctuations and humidity can affect the scent's quality. Also, make sure the bottle is properly sealed when not in use, so the fragrance is preserved for as long as possible.
12. What does it mean that a perfume needs to be massaged?
Maceration means allowing the perfume to mature after production. Immediately after a perfume is blended, the scent can be unbalanced or weaker than expected. By letting the perfume sit in a dark, cool place for at least two weeks, the fragrance notes have time to develop and blend properly, which can result in a deeper and longer-lasting scent.
13. What is noseblindness and can it affect how I perceive the scent?
Noseblindness, or olfactory fatigue, means that your nose gets used to a scent after a certain time, causing you to stop noticing it while others still perceive it.
This can happen with perfumes you use often, especially if you apply them on yourself. To test if your perfume actually lasts, you can ask someone close to you to smell you after a few hours.
Noseblindness is completely natural and does not affect the actual longevity of the perfume or your health.
14. What is the difference between a dupe and an original perfume?
A dupe is a perfume inspired by an exclusive and expensive original scent but at a much lower price. It's about getting the same fragrance experience as the expensive perfume, but without paying for the brand's name or packaging. A dupe is usually created with the same scent notes as the original and can be just as long-lasting and intense.
The difference between a dupe and an original perfume is that a dupe is not a brand name, but rather a version of the scent. This way, you avoid paying for the famous brand and packaging, but still get to experience the same fragrance on the skin. Many dupes are designed to provide the same feeling and quality as the original perfume, making them an affordable alternative for those who want a similar scent experience without paying the high price.
15. How do I apply perfume for the best longevity?
For best longevity, apply perfume to well-moisturized skin, preferably after a shower. Focus on pulse points such as wrists, neck, behind the ears, and the inside of the elbows, where the warmth helps the scent to develop.
Do not rub in the perfume, as this can break down the fragrance molecules and affect longevity. A light spray on clothing can also help the scent linger longer, but avoid delicate fabrics.
